Mountshannon Village Cottages

An award winning development of attractively designed and furnished cottages in the picturesque village of Mountshannon situated on the Western shore of Lough Derg and overlooking the lake and marina where there is a sandy bathing area which has earned a blue flag for 1998. Private landscaped gardens provide a safe play area and secure parking.



Mountshannon is a friendly old world village where the visitor can enjoy good food and drink in relaxed surroundings in the local traditional pubs, restaurants and bistro. Food stores, in the village.



The cottages are 3 bedroom as well as one four bedroom and one two bedroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen off an attractively furnished spacious living room, with open fireplace and storage heating. Bed linen is supplied. Laundry room and payphone on site. Cot and highchair available on request. Electricity is an extra charge.



ACTIVITIES:

Fishing, Lough Derg, Lower Shannon, East Clare Lakes and Scariff River provide all the variety the fishermen could want. Boating and gillie hire arranged on request.

Watersports, locally and at U.L. Activity Centre which offers the complete range of activities, tuition and equipment.

Golf, East Clare and Portunma Golf Clubs are each 18 hole and there are 8 other courses within a 50km radius.

Pitch and Putt, Pony Trekking, boat and bicycle hire, boat trips to Holy Island and way-marked walks in village.

Sightseeing, Ideal base for day trips to The Lough Derg Circuit, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Portumna Forest Park, Birr Castle and Gardens, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher and the spectacular Clare coast, Galway and Limerick cities, numerous medieval sites and monuments.
